-image-IE6 always breaks my toys!
For those who still use IE6, please update your outdated browser, already! But I can’t please everyone just because they don’t want to update their browser :)
This is what you’ll get if you view my site in IE6, I think. I have a windows laptop and I don’t update my IE6 browser to the newest version purposely (only to check whether or not IE6 does what I want it to do), but I checked this site via IE NetRenderer if I use my mac and the screenshot above is the result of it. The H2 sidebar title is gone in that screenshot result. I haven’t checked this site on my laptop yet, but the main point is I’m not going to fix it if there’s any error, IE6 always breaks my toys. It also doesn’t allow transparency, I spent too much time fixing my header and the clowds background. I even made another CSS file for IE6.
This is what it looked like in IE6 before: if I make a transparent image, a grey overlay box appears around the transparent area! I’ve saved the image via “save for web” option in photoshop, and then chose png-24, interlace. But still I got that grey overlay box, which annoyed me so much that I’ve spent the whole night fixing it and haven’t slept! I managed to fix it by playing with padding; First, I wanted the clowd background to be repeated horizontally, so I used repeat-x in my CSS file, but if I make a header image with the same clowd background, and put it on my site, the clowds will be broken once I minimize and maximize my browser, and making the background transparent is a headache because again…I’ll get that grey overlay box in IE6. So? I’ve cut my header, use padding in my header-marge CSS and voila! It does what I want it to. It sounds so weird, but it’s what I’ve done.

Can’t believe how sad and nervous I was because my site was expired! LOL! Sad because when I so wanted to make a new layout, it’s down! Nervous because I couldn’t wait any longer for H2GO to activate my site! And also because I was afraid to lose everything I have in my host as I haven’t backed it up! Thanks H2GO for a quick and good service!! Thumbs up! :-)
Anyway, I just made a few characters in Adobe Illustrator! Ended up feeling stupid because I actually can do what I wish I could! And that the things I wanted to make are bloody easy! LOL
Welcome to Dollymalia Valley!
The first character I’ve made! His name is Owly, a member of Dollymalia Valley! Why is it Dollymalia? It’s shortened of Doll and animal! Because what I make is mostly animal!
This bear’s name is Polly! I used this name Polly because my sister has a cute little bear named Polly, which she already has since she was younger than 15 (I don’t remember how old she was at the time she got it). Polly was her Christmas’s gift, and also her birthday’s gift as she celebrates her birthday on 25th December :)

I’ve changed my layout again for the shake of my eyes, iphone, readability and simplicity. I got hooked to my ipod that i’m posting this from wp application for ipod/iphone while i’m just home!! Apple products rock!! Anyway I’m aching to give my opinions about the applications I’ve purchased/installed!
- Twitterific
This is the first application I’ve installed, a free version one. It looks neat and i like the main theme of it! It also provides a few themes: the grey one, the white one and the main theme which is black (which is what i am currently using). The most thing i like from twitterific is that it has an option for left-hander! Maybe it is not very useful for most of the people, because most of them are right-hander. It also has public timeline feature, search button and you can view people’s profile! The disadvantage of it is that it may be tricky for some people to find out where they can view someone’s profile and if you get a direct message it will be shown in the same tab (not in reply and in direct message’s tabs) only it has different background color! Brown means a reply and blue means direct message. Nevertheless you can re-view a reply messages only and direct messages in a separate tabs! For the first time you’ll probably get confused and won’t notice the difference between the background colors! If you decide to install it you better install the free version first, take a look at the features and compare it to another twitter clients for iphone/ipod touch. The premium and free versions look the same, the only difference is that the free version has ads.

This is a paid twitter client. It looks cute! If you are a girl you will love the looks! It’s so bright, has a cute clowds as background image and the notification sound is just cute! But these are not the only things twitterena has! You can upload picture from twitpic (which twitterific doesn’t have), view the followers of another people (which twitterific, again, doesn’t have!). The reply and direct messages are shown separately in another tabs and you’ll get noticed how many new tweets, reply tweets and direct messages tweets. The only disadvantage of this is that it doesn’t have public timeline, but it has search button, popular tags and … It has no ads! You can purchase it only for $0,79. Twitterena is new! Currently it only has one theme, but they will be releasing a new theme soon which doesn’t look so gay for male users, hehe! And oh yeah, i almost forgot something, it also has google locator to locate/re-locate your current location!!! All these features for only $ 0,79!
- plurk application
This is a free application for plurkers! It looks neat! But it has some minus points which are:
- no responded tab
- no mark as read link
- you can’t see your karma
- you can’t change your profile
- no account setting
- can’t view icons, images, youtube link; Those will only appear if you view responses.
Nevertheless if you are addicted to plurk it’s not bad to try it out!
- wordpress application
A free application that looks neat and simple! Good if you’re outside and not able to use computer/laptop. It’s good for a simple post but not if you want to upload some pictures! Or i don’t see the button (i just installed this application).
- facebook application
A free application, neat! An organised home (news feed, notification), profile, friends, chat and inbox tabs!
Games
I’ve also installed a few of games which are:
- Sudoku
This is the very first game I’ve installed! A few weeks ago i got a sudoku gadget from Lidl supermarket, but it doesn’t work properly so that’s why i was so glad that i’ve found this game! For those who also like it you can throw away your sudoku book and try a modern one! :)
- Bomberman touch
This is a paid application that costs you $ 5,99. This Game just reminds me to my childhood back in the year 90’s, it’s however harder to play as it is a touch version (obvious!) but i don’t regret that i’ve purhased it, a good way to destroy my boredom!
