Since I’m using my little max I’ve become a twitter junkie, I started to purchase twitterena and tweetie because twitterena has an annoying bugs (and that made me purchase tweetie). I’ve joined twitter about two years ago but I had never paid attention to what’s hot on twitter and I just learnt about the hashtag.
What I don’t like is that I got followed by porn and products advertisers, marketers, or just another spammers. First, I still don’t get the point why they followed my timeline because:
1. I am not going to follow such people’s tweets
2. They’ll see my timeline but I won’t see theirs, so their advertises won’t be read/seen at all
3. They will only fill my followers counts while they’ll get less follower counts than the following counts (do you get what I mean?)
Second, it’s obvious that people want to get more followers, and from here I saw few sites that assure twitters to get more followers, how will it work?!? You’ll only follow the one who made that site while s/he will have your information. If you don’t even trust your own friends when it comes about giving out your password, how come you believe that those sites will help you get more followers by giving out your twitter screen name and password? Besides, I don’t think it’s a healthy way to increase your followers; I followed certain people because:
1. I want to know what they’re doing/what they’ve to say about something
2. I know their weblogs
3. For me, they’re a must followed people!
4. Or they’re my followers and I decided to follow back because it causes no harm *lol* no, because their updates seem to be fun/interesting :-)
Third one, I don’t remember what I’ve posted on my twitter, but I think I’ve posted about a song by coldplay, and then I got someone’s reply who advertised about his stuff. It not only annoyed me, but it also looked as if he’s an advertiser who desperately wanted people to get his stuff, which is a non-professional way of advertising. I am not a marketer, but:
1. He doesn’t know whether his tweet annoys people
2. He thinks that everyone’s using computer and can open myspace, the site he’s referring to and that’s why I told him that it’s not professional to use such site, it’s my way to tell him how to impress people by having a good looking site and compatible in all the browsers (both desktop and mobile browsers), AM I WRONG HERE?!? DAMN YOU, FAG!! You didn’t face with marketer, you only faced with someone who’s being critical about website design!!
3. For people out there, when you decide to unsolicitedly advertise your product on people’s tweets, please be prepared that not all of them will appreciate that!!
I guess Twitter is interesting afterall, after you jump into it :) i began actively Twitter-ing after using twittergadget.
I wonder where I fit in your category :)
actually, you need to block the spammers. they could still spam their tweet to you by mentioning you using @username in their tweet.
Eric: which category? Marketer? No, Interesting updates? Yes :)
aldi: I see that they’re suspended! nowadays I see more sites that assure people to get more followers, twittercut dot com for the example, total a scam! ANd I just got another unsolicited reply from another site that assures me to get more followers! I think he can’t read! Or it’s just a stupid fag bot!!
You know, I could probably try to sell you something.
Like maybe a glove that can protect and enhance your fingers so that you can type more and faster on Twitter, increasing your average updates per day without damaging your iphone/ipod (and your brain hopefully) :D
LOL. ok, i’m not good at this.
I love Twitter, but I think Twittering has made me less of a blogger since I find it a lot easier to share a link instead of writing a 300 worded entry on something. In a way, my voice is overshadowed by all the “noise” on Twitter. But I still like after all. LOL.
Some of these spam tweets are actually bots. They reply to you when you type a tweet that has the keyword they are looking for. It’s really annoying. And I’m really not a fan of those who follow people so they could accumulate a large # of followers. They clearly just don’t get the concept of Twitter. What a shame.
