Fashion victim, trend and spoiled kid

I dislike fashion victim. I said a victim because the things someone wears don’t look good on him/her. Fashion victim is not a trendsetter. Fashion victim is a victim mostly because of a trend. I remember the old time when I was around 13 and people around me had to have Dr. Marten’s shoes that is oftenly called Doc Mart. I remember how people were forcing themselves to buy it. I said ‘force’ because I saw lots of people bought a fake ones as they couldn’t afford the original ones. My mom bought me one, a fake Doc Mart boots. She bought it because she thought its trend was a temporary one so she didn’t feel the need to buy an original one, and maybe, another people who bought a fake ones also thought the same as she did. I didn’t get why she bought it as I didn’t ask her, but as soon as I wore it I started to understand that it was a trend. I could make a difference between the original ones and the fake ones and I felt kinda ashamed to wear a fake Doc Mart and that’s why I kept on wanting another shoes. I prefered wearing another not-so-trendy shoes than wearing a fake Doc Mart. I have ever complained her for buying me a doc mart, but on the other side I appreciated her for trying her best to get me something that people around were wearing, she tried her best to let me follow a trend. And because of this she never bought something I didn’t ask, she became careful of buying stuff which she knew that I’d wear it every day because I am picky.

Casio My Magic Diary

Do you remember these things? Or, do you know? THESE WERE A MUST HAVE!! Especially when I had math examination (we were allowed to use a calculator during this exam). Everyone around me had these calculators, including me! The picture on the left which is JD-7000 serie has a magic beam which lets you send a message to another people who have the same serie. So during the exam I sent a message to a friend and asked for the answer *haha* It’s such a great calculator which is not only a calculator, but both of them have telephone book with personal images, both also have world map, calendar, battle, a secret section which let you have a secret telephone book, memo, etc and nobody can view it without a password. But the picture on the right side which is JD-6000 serie doesn’t have a magic beam, unfortunately. It was fun playing with these stuff. But then, the teachers discovered that the students chatted with each other during the exam and they started forbidding JD-7000 so I started using JD-6000 which was still allowed, but they didn’t know that I still could write a formules in my data memo *haha* I love these calculators! I love this moment! I love this trend! Oh, memories… xD

Casio Baby G watch

And then two years later, Baby G Casio watch became a trend. I knew a girl in my class who also wanted to buy it when I told her I wanted a Baby G. On the next day after she told me, she bought one and said she had a Baby G. I took a look at her watch and I was too naive to say,”but, this is a fake Casio.” She got mad at me and never spoke to me again. At that time it was weird for me, I didn’t get why she got mad after I said it because it was true, I didn’t realise that I hurt her feeling for saying it’s fake. But on the other side nobody could deny it because it’s really a fake one. I finally bought a Baby G, another friend told me;

“Hey girl, do you know what I have heard today?”
“What then?”
“That girl C was talking bad about you”
“Hmm…why?”
And then she started telling me about the watch C had.
I answered,”I can’t stand lies. Nobody can. She told it’s Baby G while it’s not. And I said I wanted a Baby G. a B-a-b-y- G. Not a f-a-k-e-y- G. And also not K-e-n-n-y- G.”
“Hahahahaha! But, you must understand her feeling when you told her it’s fake, you know..”
“Ah yes, it was my first reaction at the time I saw it and I didn’t think twice.”

This reminded me to the time when I wore a fake Doc Mart, I knew how it felt to wear a fake stuff, especially after someone told you straight forward that it’s fake when you just got it. I wanted to apology to her but she didn’t give me any chance and I was a very cold girl so I just considered my days as if nothing had happened between me and her; She didn’t talk to me, nor did I.

I still love Baby G. My first Baby G was orange; Unfortunately, it’s stolen. I bought a new one, a green Baby G. I still have it now.

From all the stuff I had, you can say that I’m definitely a spoiled kid, those things above were the things I had before I was 17. Can’t imagine how much money my dad has spent for me *LOL* I said my dad because he’s the one who always fulfilled what I wanted, he also never refused when I told him I wanted something.

  • Hi Vanessa,

Thanks for dropping by, I’ve already replied your comment on my recent post. Care to take a look? :)

Nice blog! I love pink too, albeit my most fave color is white actually :D

I myself normally seek for latest fashion trends on magazines and fashion blogs, however I never am a trend follower esp. when I don’t feel uncomfortable to wear it (e.g. animal print leggings, colorful skinny jeans, crocs rubber shoes/sandals, etc).

Anyway I once had Doc Mart and Baby G too! LOL.
